About David McMillan

I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California.

My favorite movies are All About Eve and The Silence of the Lambs.

My favorite director is Federico Fellini.

My favorite novel is Portnoy’s Complaint. I think.

While I was at Yale for undergrad, I wrote several terrible scripts, drank way too much, and froze my ass off.

While I was at USC for grad school, I won the Jack Nicholson Screenwriting Award for a script I wrote called Oreo. You can check it out here (along with some of my other scripts).

I’ve worked for Fox, for CBS, and for YouTube. But my favorite job to date has been teaching film to ninth and tenth graders.

I’m a volunteer with Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America.

I love chicken. No seriously, I really love chicken.

I do a pretty awesome Louis Armstrong impersonation.

I will reenact the last scene from There Will Be Blood at the drop of a hat.

Favorite movie quote: “…But Mrs. Mulwray, I goddamn near lost my nose last night. And I like it. I like breathing through it.” –Jake Gittes (Jack Nicholson), Chinatown

Oh, and I have a weird fascination with Chinese opera… but we won’t go into that.
